Kennedy Center
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is located on the Potomac River, hosting over 2,000 performances annually; including the ballet, theatre, opera, and a variety of musical concerts for all ages.
Planned as far back as 1958 under President Eisenhower, the Kennedy Center includes three venues, The Eisenhower Theatre, Concert Hall and Opera House. Upon opening in 1971, the Kennedy Center became a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy, and is considered to be one of America’s foremost cultural institutions.
