The White House

The White House has been the official residence and workplace of the President of the United States since John Adams. Completed in 1800, the stately, Neo-classical design structure was originally referred to as the “Executive Mansion” until President Theodore Roosevelt established its formal name, “The White House”.
Visitors to the White House must apply to their local Member of Congress at least one month in advance, with admission granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
