Jungle Island

One of the first tourist attractions in the Miami area, Jungle Island (formerly Parrot Jungle) was founded in 1936, and created with a concept that birds would “fly free”. Through the years, Jungle Island has evolved into an 18-acre garden inclusive of animals, plants, shows and exhibits.
During your visit to Jungle Island, meet a variety of species of birds, primates, fish, reptiles, and exotic mammals, including the liger; part lion, part tiger. Enjoy a variety of entertaining shows such as “Winged Wonders” and “Tale of the Tiger”, or cool off at La Playa, a private beach overlooking the beautiful Biscayne Bay landscape.
