The Spanish Steps

The Piazza di Spagna, or Spanish Square, is connected to Trinita dei Monti, a French church, atop of a hill via a winding staircase, known as the Spanish Steps, or Scalinata della Trinita dei Monti. Consisting of 137 steps over twelve separate flights, the Steps have an irregular, yet symmetric structure.
The Spanish Steps are a crowd favorite; attracting tourists and locals who use the area as a gathering place. A visit in the spring is particularly beautiful, when the azaleas bordering the Steps are in bloom.
