Tokyo National Museum

Established in 1872, the Tokyo National Museum is the oldest and largest museum in Japan, offering an extensive collection of art works and archaeological objects of Asia, focusing entirely on Japan.
There are over 110,000 objects housed in the TNM within the following permanent exhibits: Japanese Gallery, Asian Gallery, Gallery of Hory-u-ji Treasures, and the Research and Information Center. The museum has a beautiful garden and several outdoor exhibitions, in addition to several restaurants and shops to visit.
