Translated “Great Way,” Gran Via is an upscale shopping street in the heart of Madrid. Long considered one of the city’s most important shopping areas, Gran Via is home to a large number of hotels, restaurants, and theatres, and is best explored on foot.
Having recently celebrated 100 years, Gran Via is noted for its grand architecture, prevalent among many of its buildings. At sunset and by night, the avenue and its structures light up in a most spectacular way.
