Copacabana Beach

Anchored at one end by the 700 foot Sugarloaf Mountain and on the other end by the old Copacabana Fort, the Copacabana Beach is 2.5 miles long, and considered to be one of the most recognizable beaches in the word. Made famous by the nightclubs, casinos and hotels in the 1950’s, Copacabana Beach is lined with a wide variety of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and hotels.
Copacabana Beach is a site for large music concerts, and the largest New Year’s Eve party in the world. In addition to providing a great spot for swimming and people watching, visitors often find a game of soccer being played on the sand.
