Museu de Arte de Sao Paulo

Located in a landmark Modernist building perched on concrete stilts, the São Paulo Art Museum in Bela Vista has 19th-century Brazilian paintings and European masters from the last five centuries. Every Sunday there's an antiques fair next door.
The Museu de Arte de São Paulo (São Paulo Art Museum) is home to one of the largest and most important collections in the southern hemisphere, ranging from classic European artists such as Botticelli and Bellini to the contemporary works of Diego Rivera and Picasso.
The museum was founded by two important businessmen and intellectuals, Assis Chateaubriand and Pietro Maria Bardi. It first opened in late 1947, and the collection was moved to this purpose-built establishment in 1968.
