Brandenburg Gate

The Brandenburger Tor was originally built in the 18th century as a symbol of peace. The monumental gate was originally part of a wall surrounding Berlin, and served as the main entrance to the city.
For so many years, the Brandenburg Gate symbolized Germany’s division; however, since the fall of the Berlin Wall, the gate has symbolized reunification. Today, it is the only gate that remains of the former wall.
