Berlin, Germany Attractions
One of Berlin’s most historical and recognizable landmarks is the Reichstag, the seat of the German Parliament. The Reichstag was constructed between 1884 and 1894, and is close to the Brandenburg Gate. Prior to the unification, the Reichstag was next to the Berlin Wall. Following reunification, a decision was made to locate the Bundestag (German Parliament) back to Berlin, resulting in the renovation of the Reichstag.
Since completion of the building renovation in 1999, the Reichstaghas been the seat of the Bundestag. A part of the Reichstag is open to the public; including an elevator that brings visitors to the building’s roof and to the top of its beautiful glass dome.
