Pitti Palace

The15th century Palazzo Pitti is across the river from the historic center of Florence in Oltrarno, and served as the residence for Florence’s rulers until 1919. At that point in time, the Italian state transformed the exquisite Pitti Palace into a museum complex.
The Palazzo is home to a number of museums, including the porcelain and silver museums which are housed on the grounds of the Palace. The other museums are in the Palazzo Pitti and can be entered via the palace’s courtyard. They include the Galleria Palatina, Gallelria del Costume, the MuseodelleCarozze, and the Galleria d’ArteModerne.
