Rossio Square

Rossio Square is in the heart of Lisbon, the liveliest square in the city. Two baroque fountains and a monument of Dom Pedro IVstand in the square to welcome the many visitors that stop, sit and relax, or enjoy a drink at one of several cafes along the square.The square is paved with cobblestones in a wave-like pattern, a style commonly seen throughout Portugal.
On the north side of Rossio Square is the Dona Maria II National Theater, a neoclassical structure built in the 1840’s.
