Shanghai Municipal History Museum

Located in the basement of Shanghai’s landmark structure, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Shanghai Municipal History Museum shares the history of Shanghai with its visitors. Exhibits include models of the Huangpu River, the Bund, Nanjing Lu, and other distinct features of Shanghai with particular emphasis on the colonial period between 1860 and 1949.
An impressive vehicle collection of trolley cars, 1920’s sedans, and a United States Jeep popular after World War II are on display at the museum, in addition to models of Shanghai’s classic avenues and famous buildings.
