798 Art Zone

The Dashanzi Art District houses a thriving artistic community established within a complex of 50-year old decommissioned military factory buildings of unique architectural style. Also referred to as factory 798 and 798 Art Space, the district has exploded with the establishment of galleries, lofts, publishing firms, design companies, high-end tailor shops, cafes, and exclusive restaurants. The district is often compared to New York’s SoHo or Greenwich Village.
