National Grand Theater
The National Centre for the Performing Arts, colloquially described as The Egg, is an opera house in Beijing. The Centre is an ellipsoid dome constructed out of glass with titanium accents, and surrounded by an artificial lake. Its noticeable appearance is said to resemble a water drop or an egg floating on water.
Three halls of the National Grand Theater seat 5,452 people, including the Opera Hall used for operas, ballet, and dances, the Music Hall, and the Theater Hall.
