The MuseoNacional de BellasArteshouses the world’s largest collection of Argentine sculptures and paintings within a gold colored stone building that formerly pumped the city’s water supply. Visitors to the museum gain a better understanding for the country’s history just by looking at some of the Argentine art on display at the museum.
A collection of European art, dating from the medieval period, is on display at the museum. Works by Picasso, Renoir, Monet, Rodin and van Gogh, are included in the museum’s collection, many accumulated during Argentina’s golden age.
