Church of Our Lady

One of the most recognizable landmarks in Munich is the Church of our Lady, or Frauenkirche, The cathedral was constructed from red brick in the late Gothic style within just 20 years, and holds up to 20,000 people. The Church of our Lady towers over the city of Munich,reaching a height of 325 feet.
The interior of the church was once designed in the Baroque style; however, once promoted to cathedral, the baroque elements were removed and replaced with gothic because it was thought to be the only style for churches at the time. Also inside is the “footprint of the devil” a legend between the architect of the Frauenkirche and the devil.
