Frankfurt, Germany Attractions
Sachsenhausen
With two distinct areas, one north and one south, this district of Frankfurt is home to the popular Museum Embankment along with a number of other popular destinations including a massive flea market. Sachsenhausen dates back to the twelfth century. It was not as heavily damaged during World War Two bombing raids as other parts of the city, and retains much of its original architecture. The main street of the district is Schweizerstrasse, home to Frankfurt’s traditional cider houses. Other landmarks include the Henninger-Turm, a 33-storey tall brewery grain storage silo, and the wooden Goethe Tower.
