Vienna, Austria Attractions
Settled on 435 acres just outside the center of Vienna is the Schonbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the imperial family. In its heyday, the Palace was home to some 1,000 people in the 1441 rooms and halls of the complex, 40 of which are open to visitors.
Behind the Schonbrunn Palace is a park on a sloping site. Throughout the park are a number of statues and buildings, including the Neptune Fountain, the park’s most monumental fountain. The beautiful Gloriette is a beautiful neoclassicist structure built in 1775 as a monument to the soldiers who gave their lives for the empire. A visit spent exploring this magnificent palace will take the better part of a day.
