State Opera House
On May 25, 1869, the Vienna Opera House opened as the Hofoper, or Court Opera, with a performance of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni”. The building’s architecture was designed in a neo-renaissance style with a beautiful loggia fronting the structure, decorated with frescoes depicting scenes from Mozart’s “Magic Flute”.
A night at the Vienna Opera is a spectacular experience; however, if you cannot enjoy one of the many performances, visitors can partake in a guided tour of the State Opera House, or StaatsOper.
