National Ceramics Museum Gonzalez Marti
The MuseoNacional de Ceramica Gonzalez Marti is housed in the handsome Palacio del Marques de Dos Aguas that dates back from the 15th century. The palace was reconstructed in a rococo architectural style in 1740 with a beautiful alabaster entrance, and now houses the National Ceramics Museum, Spain’s leading collection of ceramics.
Founded in 1947, with the Gonzalez Marti collection as its core, the Musem includes over 5,000 examples of traditional pottery from Valencia and the surrounding area, azulejos from Teruel, faience from Toledo and Seville, Greek, Roman, and Arab ware, Chinese and Japanese porcelain, and modern pieces by famed artists such as Picasso.
