Konigstrasse

The Konigstrasse is one of Germany’s leading retail centers. Located in the heart of Stuttgart, the bustling street connects the square adjacent to Stuttgart’s central railway station, the Arnulf-Klett-Platz, to Marienstrasse. Sections of the Konigstrasse are pedestrian-only. A number of government buildings line the street, but the focus of the Konigstrasse is shopping, with a blend of major department stores and a number of smaller specialty stores. In the pedestrian zones are street performers, landscaping and benches where people can relax. While shoppers pass time in sidewalk cafes and on the Koningstrasse’s benches and chairs, street performers and artists add color. Three different metro stations serve the Konigstrasse.
