This beautiful manor house hotel is steeped in the history of the Cannes film industry and opened under new ownership on 1st April 2004, with a new contemporary Italian restaurant, Il Lago. The new owner, Camilla Richards, is a London-based Swede. She purchased it and has carried out a comprehensive refurbishment. The character and unique aspect of Le Manoir are perfectly preserved but the facilities have a much more contemporary feel. Air conditioning, wooden floors, and the best Egyptian cotton have arrived; the restaurant is modern Italian; the gardens and terraces are now under the direction of top London landscape architect Stephen Woodhams. The twenty-one bedrooms are spread across a number of charming buildings. They are a good size and most of them face south with views of hills and the lake. All the rooms are air-conditioned and have en suite bathrooms. We can provide fitness training, massage and beauty therapy to meet all your needs. Mougins village has a fascinating cultural atmosphere with a panoramic view of the sea and will bring you the shadows of 2000 years of history. Last but not least, Mougins has many art galleries, antique shops, restaurants and a wonderful museum devoted to Picasso. Indulge yourself and go for a walk in the old village. The five hectare pond in front of the hotel, on the edge of the Valmasque Park is a remarkable site. Not only for its magnificent scenery, but also for its amazing vegetation and wealth of wild birds. It's the largest colony of Asian lotus flowers in Europe. This colony originated from seven stems brought by Maurice Gridaine, the previous owner of the Manoir, from Japan over 30 years ago. This is one of the few places where over sixty species of water and migrating birds have been spotted. The Valmasque forest park is popular for hiking, walking, and other sports. Alternatively you can simply benefit from the beautiful environment which surrounds you. For bird-lovers there is the Fontmerle pond, which consists of five hectares area with over sixty different bird species. It is also well-known for its lotuses because it is the largest lotus colony in Europe. There is always something to see so take a relaxing walk and look closely in case you will find the sixty-first bird.
