Hotel Description
Offering Caribbean flair on the coveted “Four Corners” section of the famed Las Vegas Strip, the Flamingo Las Vegas boasts Las Vegas flair and classic resort accommodations with marvels such as a wildlife habitat and a tropical water playground. Hotel Features Originated as the desert dream of a famed U.S. gangster in 1946, the Flamingo Las Vegas lays stake as the first Las Vegas Strip hotel and casino. The original hotel has made way for a newer, updated version, but the Flamingo still maintains its characteristic appeal to families and nonstop partiers alike. Slots and table games light up the Flamingo’s 77,000-square-foot casino, which provides a vibrant, Caribbean style atmosphere with updated games, classic favorites, and a Race & Sports Book. This hotel boasts its own wildlife habitat with a flock of Chilean flamingos, swans, ducks, and koi fish, who flit amongst lush foliage, tiny islands, and rushing waterfalls. A neighboring tropical playground, resplendent with cheery tropical flowers and shady palm trees, contains a traditional oval-shaped pool, extensive lagoon with grottos, two hot tubs, and a casino/pool combination. Cocktail service and a poolside restaurant are available seasonally. The Flamingo Las Vegas hosts legendary performers from its inception, including Toni Braxton, George Wallace, and the Society of Seven. Guests can expect the hotel’s venues to host a fine array of stars whenever they stay, including comedians and singers. Dining options within the walls of the Flamingo Las Vegas include casual bar and grills, budget buffets, and eclectic cafes. Authentic Japanese cuisine and a fresh sushi bar are featured at Hamada of Japan, and Voga, which is mixed with city chic and Neapolitan style. Jimmy Buffet’s Caribbean-style Margaritaville restaurant covers multiple floors, and contains five bars, live entertainment, and terrace seating with views of the Las Vegas Strip. Guests can maintain their workouts at the Flamingo’s workout room, which offers machines and free weights. Rewards may come next in the hotel’s spa, which contains spa tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and professional massage and aromatherapy treatments.
GuestroomsThe Flamingo Las Vegas features 3,545 guestrooms and suites contained within six towers. All units showcase floor-to-ceiling windows and contemporary décor, including upholstered armchairs and loveseats. The work desks contained in the accommodations include connections for high-speed Internet access (surcharge). In-room safes can accommodate laptops. Color schemes in the guestrooms vary, but generally include light blues and peaches for a subdued tropical ambience, or earth tones including forest green and beige.
The Flamingo also features new Go Rooms. These new accommodations indulge tech-savvy guests with a host of cutting edge digital accessories including top-of-the-line sound system, iPod® docking station, CD/DVD player, electronic window treatments and wireless internet connections. Rooms are also equipped with 42-inch flat panel televisions and built-in screens in the bathroom mirrors.

Hotelbook TipThe Flamingo Las Vegas was built as an “oasis in the desert” by New York gangster Bugsy Siegel. Originally budgeted for $1.5 million, the cost eventually exceeded $6 million, which angered Siegel’s mafia bosses and led to his eventual murder. The name “Flamingo” is said to derive from Siegel’s long-legged, red-haired girlfriend, who had “Flamingo” as her nickname
